This article applies to Safe Payment with non-integrated shipping. If you need information related to shipments with integrated shipping, see our help pages for Helthjem (Norway), Dao (Denmark) and Matkahuolto (Finland).
Safe Payment is our secure payment service that makes it easy for both buyers and sellers to shop securely at Tise. When you receive an offer with Safe Payment, we immediately reserve the amount on the buyer's payment card and secure the payment until the transaction is complete.
A Safe Payment trade works like this:
1: Bid👋
The buyer decide to make a bid with Safe Payment. When making the bid, the buyer also indicate if she/he want the seller to ship the item or meet the seller in person for the handover. The bid amount is reserved on the buyers card when the bid is made. The seller does not need to add payout details before its first deal is finished.
A bid is valid for 3 days and can be withdrawn by the buyer until the seller has accepted the offer. Sellers have the chance to either reject a bid, ignore it or place a counter bid. However, the seller can not withdraw a counter-bid.
2: Bid acceptance 🤝
When a bid is placed, it is examined whether there is coverage on the buyer's payment card. If there is coverage for the bid amount, the amount is reserved from the buyer and a bid is placed that is visible in the seller's and buyer's private chat.
The seller will accept or reject the bid from the buyer by pressing the bid-message. If the bid is accepted, the seller also accepts the usage of Safe Payment for the transaction.
If the seller rejects the bid, the bid expires or the buyer withdraws the bid, the reserved amount will be released back to the buyer's account.
Note: The delivery method cannot be changed after the bid is accepted. Therefore, if you want to change this as a seller, please reject the bid and ask the buyer to give a new bid with an updated delivery method. Remember, the seller must always make sure that the total bid is enough to also cover shipping expenses.
The seller is free to reject the bid. If the bid is rejected, or is timed out 3 days after being made, the full amount held on the account of the buyer will be released.
3: Shipping & Delivery Method ✈️
After the acceptance of the bid, the buyer and seller should follow the instructions given in the app for the handover. The seller marks in the chat when the package is sent. Then the package has 10 days to be delivered.
The seller may pay for all shipping costs, as this is included in the total amount in the bid from the buyer (or if the seller has chosen to offer free shipping). Tise recommends using shipping with tracking. The seller should keep a copy of the receipt or consignment note as proof that the package has been sent. When the buyer receives the item, he can mark the item as received inside the chat. If the buyer does not do this within 10 days after the package has been marked as "sent", the product will be automatically marked as received.
If more than 8 days have passed since the item was confirmed sent in the app without it being received by the buyer, the buyer can choose to extend the delivery time in the chat by another 10 days. This option is given in the chat after 8 days.
If the buyer reports in the chat that the product has still not been delivered after an extended delivery time, a support case is created at Tise. The buyer will then be contacted for further procedures.
4: If there is a deviation on a received object (!)
If the buyer is dissatisfied with the product and believes that it is not as expected based on the seller's descriptions, this must be documented immediately. If the buyer can document that the item deviates significantly from the description, the buyer has the opportunity to cancel the purchase. However, the buyer can not market such claims after the product has been marked as received / approved in the chat.
Agreement on return of the product and the type of shipping to be used is agreed between buyer and seller. Once the buyer has documented the return shipment and the seller can confirm the agreement, the amount is refunded to the buyer in accordance with the user agreement. The same documentation requirements apply to buyers on return as for sellers on original transport.
If it appears that the goods have been damaged during transport, the responsible transport company or post office should be contacted. In this situation, it is important that the seller can refer to documentation on shipping and damage that has occurred.
If the buyer, seller or transport company does not agree on the situation and / or that Tise is unable to resolve the matter due to the documentation submitted, the buyer must take the matter to the competent authority for further processing.
5: Meet in person🙋
If the agreed delivery method is "meet in person", the buyer and seller must meet for the handover within 5 days. When receiving the item, the buyer must mark the item as received in the app. This is important for both seller and buyer to remember. The buyer will then be given the opportunity to give a review to the seller.
6: Receiving the payment 💰
The seller will receive the payment 1-5 days after the item is marked as received by the buyer in the chat or that it is automatically marked as received in the chat after 10 days from the time it is sent.

All approvals during the process always take place in the chat - it's good to know!
