Frequently Asked Questions - Service Fee

Updated today

What is the service fee on Tise?

The service fee is a fee paid by the buyer when a transaction is completed through Tise’s integrated payment system.

What does the service fee not cover?

The service fee is not a form of buyer protection, as buyer protection is provided free of charge by Tise. The service fee is simply a fee for using Tise.

What does the service fee cover?

The service fee helps make it safe and easy to shop on Tise by supporting:

  • The operation and maintenance of Tise’s marketplace

  • A dedicated support team

  • The ability to use integrated payment and shipping directly in the app

This means that as a buyer, you are paying for the digital service and features that Tise provides.

When do I pay the service fee?

The service fee is automatically added when you place a bid through Tise’s integrated payment system. The fee is always clearly displayed in advance, so you have full visibility of the total price before confirming the purchase.

How is the fee calculated?

The service fee is calculated as a percentage of the item price, which means it may vary from purchase to purchase. See the following policy for a more detailed explanation of how the fee is calculated.

Can the service fee be refunded?

The service fee is only refunded if the transaction is cancelled before the item is handed over to the shipping carrier — for example if the seller, buyer, or Tise cancels the order, or if the item is lost or damaged during transport and therefore cannot be used.

After the item has been delivered to the buyer, the service fee will not be refunded, even if the item is returned to the seller. This is because the fee covers the service provided by Tise in connection with the purchase.
